American Harvest Corn Stove

American Harvest Corn Stoves are manufactured by the US Stoves Company, located in South Pittsburgh, Tennessee. The most popular model of American Harvest corn stoves is American Harvest Multi-Fuel Stove, model #6039.

American Harvest corn stoves are modern heating devices designed to withstand even the coldest climates and capable of lasting more than some other wood stove models. Corn is an optimal fuel for the American Harvest stoves, but this model can burn also wood pellets and almost any kind of bio-mass fuel, including processed silage, biomass fuel grain, cherry and olive pits, and soy beans. The stove can heat up the area as big as 1,300 square feet and produces up to 52,000 BTUs/hour.

Some of more advanced features of American Harvest corn stoves are: a negative draft exhaust blower, that will help to reduce any smoke spillage and will draft the burning products though and out of the flue; a circulation fan, a 200 CFM device, for distributing warm air around your house; and a new digital control board alone with a built-in diagnostic and LED screen. All these features will simplify operation of the stove; a large ash pan will make unpleasant cleaning easy and trouble-free.

Despite all rather sophisticated properties of American Harvest corn stoves, you should be very careful when selecting stove of the American Harvest range. There're some negative feedbacks as well and some people who bought and used these stoves were not very happy. They made complaints about temperature that is not very easy to adjust, and some trouble with cleaning, some were unsatisfied how it takes care about smoke spillages. As there're more than a handful of these unhappy customers, you should pay extra attention when selecting any of the American Harvest corn stove.

There're a few hints that can help you to operate American Harvest corn stoves. One of them is to use very dry corn – it should contain no more than 10-12% of moisture if you want to burn it clean. If you can't get corn that dry, you can try mixing it with a few pounds of wood pellets – that will reduce moisture in the mixture. Another tip is to add some chicken scratch (or oyster shells), as it should eliminate any clinkers.
